Research Interest: Aquatic Ecology especially ecology of shallow lakes with wetlands and behavioural ecology of aquatic organisms

Description of research activities: Interactions between physical, chemical and biological processes in lakes, and the influence of human activities on these processes, eutrophication and biomanipulation as a restorative measure are within main research interest. To investigate governing mechanisms especially the differential role of top-down control and hydrology in structuring periphyton, macrophytes, phytoplankton, zooplankton, benthic macroinvertebrates and fish in shallow lakes are among the scopes. Chemical communication between the fish and the prey, Daphnia, behavioural ecology of Daphnia and ecotoxicology are among main research activities.
