Description of research activities: The characterization of the microsomal enzyme systems metabolizing drugs, environmental chemicals and carcinogens; The clarification of the possible role of flavin monooxygenases in structure and function by employing molecular biology and genetic techniques; Cytochrome P450 (CYP) and flavin monooxygenase (FMO) specific reactions; Identification of proteins in different species and tissues by using antibodies; Genotyping and phenotyping of CYP and FMO isoenzymes, paraoxanase, TPMT in human with different disorders; diabetes, stroke and cancer (leukemia); Drug metabolism and disease relation.
