L'Oréal Turkey and UNESCO announced the women scientists of 2021.

The 2021 winners of the "For Women in Science" program, implemented by L'Oréal Turkey in cooperation with the UNESCO Turkish National Commission, to support women's contribution to science and draw attention to gender equality in science, have been announced. Each of the 4 Turkish scientists who were deemed worthy of an award in the program this year was supported with a prize of 120,000 TL for their scientific research.


Assist. Prof. Nihal Terzi Çizmecioğlu was awarded for a project in life sciences. The project aims to better understand embryonic stem cell differentiation, which could lead to a better understanding of how neurodevelopmental diseases occur and potential therapeutic options. Along with our colleague, Assist. Prof. Eda Aydoğan Güngör from the METU - Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Assoc. Prof. Saniye Söylemez from Ordu University - Department of Chemistry and Assist. Prof. Gülcihan Gülseren from Konya Food and Agriculture University - Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics were awarded for projects.
