The exchanges coordinator of the Biological Sciences Department is İhsan Cihan Ayanoğlu . Please
contact İhsan Cihan Ayanoğlu regarding any questions related to exchange programs.
The exchange programs of METU are coordinated by the International Cooperations Office (ICO).
All the necessary information related to the exchange programs can be found on the web page of
ICO.
In addition to the METU rules for exchange programs, the Biological Sciences Department has the
following rules:
1. Students need to fill out the application form and this form must be approved by the exchange
coordinator followed by the student's academic advisor. Following approvals, the Erasmus
coordinator will sign the required documents.
2. Students will be allowed to take only elective courses at the receiving institution. Must courses
cannot be substituted.
3. The department expects the first three-year 'must-course curriculum' to be successfully finished
before participating in an exchange program. Thus, only students in 3rd or 4th year who
completed most of the 3rd year 'must course curriculum' will be approved.
4. If you are applying for a non-English institution, strong evidence of a foreign language certificate is
required.
